How do you take a fortune like the one Michael Jackson amassed and squander yourself into a financial oblivion? Well, you could spend it on extravagant living conditions that include a full blown amusement park and a private zoo full of exotic animals. Or, you could make yourself the victim of a massive conspiracy.

In a story on Reuters, Jackson has been made aware of an alleged plot against him. The leaked information revealed that unnamed former attorneys had tried to force the pop star into bankruptcy court against his will by asking other business associates and advisors to join in the legal petition.

Why would anyone want to Jackson in bankruptcy? Maybe they want to get paid. Last week a judge granted some of Jackson's attorneys permission to withdraw from defending him in a law suit when they showed Jackson had been both uncommunicative and had refused to pay the fees he owed them. Bankruptcy could possibly force him to pay debts he owes by liquidating assets.

Michael's spokeswoman Raymone Bain said this "could be one of the biggest conspiracies in entertainment history." Sorry, Raymone, I think the HUAC hearings rank at least a little higher. C'mon, Michael, M.C. Hammer admitted he had a spending problem and turned his life around. Isn't it time you did the same?
